TALBOTS SHOPPING DAY FOR T&E CARE
TUESDAY, APRIL 25, 2017
Thanks to the local Talbots in Paoli for hosting a shopping day for T&E Care on Tuesday, April 25. We really appreciated this offer and were so glad to see so many shoppers at the store! We are still waiting for the results of the 10% donation of sales to T&E Care, but we did get a $100 gift card from Talbots that we'll use as a raffle prize at the Fall Fest. That is a great start to that event and we thank Talbots for that gesture!

If you are looking for a book to consider, our own Hal Ward (Auxiliary Board since the very beginning) is now a published author and he is donating the proceeds of the sale of his book to T&E Care!
The book is available at Amazon - and if you have your Smile.Amazon account set up to donate to T&E Care then it's a win win again! This is the description of the book at the Amazon website:
A longtime essayist, Ward’s thoughtful, funny treatises and letters have long entertained and enlightened his friends and family—inspiring many to store his missives away as treasures.
In Can Openers, Ward gathers together his best observations on modern society, travel, and the arts; the foibles of family life; and—his own personal quest—his wish to see his long-suffering Philadelphia Eagles win the Super Bowl just once before he dies (which, like many dreams, often seems ethereal and unreachable).
SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE 2017
We are starting to gear up for the 2017 School Supply Drive. This is the big opportunity we have to help all local kids start school on a level playing field. Many more details will be coming soon, but in the meantime - here are some important dates for your calendars:
July 6-23: Specific needs will be posted on our website.
July 27: Sorting day at CHS
If you know you'll be gone and still want to participate, we can always use gift cards to include with the supplies. Gift cards to Walmart or Target are best as they can be used for extra supplies, back-to-school clothes (even new underwear or socks!), some special snacks for the students, or whatever! Gift cards can be mailed to us at: T&E Care, PO Box 2111, Southeastern, PA 19399. Just mark "SSD" on the outside of the envelope. $25 or $50 increments preferred.
We'll be posting a sign-up genius page for volunteers soon. Watch for that. In the meantime if you have any questions, contact us at email@example.com. THANKS!
T&E Care Kids Clothing Event 2017
Another huge success!
From March 15-24 T&E Care collected kids clothes (infants through teens) for the 6th annual Kids Clothing Event (formally known as the Grab Bag)! The event itself (where anyone can come and "shop" for clothes was held on March 31 and April 1. It was a huge success!!! As in the past we were hosted by St. Matthews United Methodist Church on Walker Rd. in Wayne. They were extremely generous in letting us take over the church for this event!
If you have the ability to help with any of these VERY important needs for a few of our local families - please let us know. The power of "community" can often make the impossible possible!
We need a set of bunk beds for a family that is moving to a smaller apartment. Please let us know ASAP if you have one to share. 5/6/17
If you have a sewing machine that you no longer use - let us know. We might be able to find a home for it! 5/617
A number of folks have asked for tall dressers. Please let us know if you know of any that migth be available. 11/22/16
We also need computer mice - for desktops or laptops. We prefer the type that are plugged in with USB ports as opposed to wireless mice that need continual battery replacements! If you have any extra mice - let us know!
If you can help out with anything requested in the section above - please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. THANKS!
Making a donation to T&E Care in lieu of a gift
Are you struggling to think of the perfect gift for the person on your list who has everything? Consider making a donation to T&E Care in his/her name? This option is always available - at the holidays or anytime of year. Information on making donations to honor others can be found on our donations page. A letter will be sent to your recipient alerting them of your kind donation (or we can send a card to you for you to wrap and give yourself).
Thanks for considering this option.
