MEMORIAL/HONORARY/ALTERNATIVE GIFT DONATIONS
If you would like to make a donation in memory of someone after death, in honor of someone who is celebrating a special occasion, or as an alternative gift for someone, we can help you. A donation to T&E Care is tax deductible and can be made in someone else's name. A notice of your donation will be mailed to the appropriate person to announce your caring gift. (Or, if desired, we can send you a notice that you can then wrap and give to the person.)
Donations should be made payable to T&E Care. Mail donations to the address above. Please include with that donation the name of the person you wish to remember or honor, and the name/address of the person you'd like to be notified of your donation. Write neatly please. (NOTE: If you choose to make the donation through Pay Pal - please send a separate email alerting us of the purpose of this donation. There is no box on the Pay Pal site that allows you to indicate this.)
DONATING GIFT CARDSand OTHER SPECIAL ITEMS
During certain times of year T&E Care will ask for donations of gift cards to help with the specific drives being run. For the late summer School Supply Drive we like to give a family a few gift cards to help with the purchase of a new outfit of clothes, or a little extra food to help with those first few breakfasts - so at least the kids get off to a good start for the school year! At the holidays we add a few gift cards to our Holiday Drive gifts so the family can purchase a few extra gifts of their own.
But at other times of year - being able to hand a family some gift cards to ease the pain when times are really tough can be very special. Some extra food or a shopping trip to Kohls for a new shirt - these are things we take for granted! Even more helpful can be a card for gas! A really fun treat is to give a family a dinner out and maybe even tickets to the movies. These are not the norm for a family - so having these types of treats are extra special.
Not really "gift cards", but a similar type of donation to consider are tickets to events. We've had tickets offered to a Phillies baseball game, the Nutcracker Ballet, and the Devon Horse Show. We've also had magazine subscriptions offered (those extra airline miles that you might have). These offers allow a family to feel "normal" as they get the chance to enjoy everyday experiences.

Please note when purchasing gift cards: it is best to buy them to "normal" stores, and not specialty stores. We try to help a family with basic needs, and the basic stores are best for that.
NOTE for donations related to special events: At times the response of our community is greater than the particular need for which we are soliciting. In these cases, any amounts collected in excess of that need will go into general T & E Care funds to be used for other means of assistance to local
families. Rest assured it will not go to waste (nor will it be used for
any salaries or similar administrative expenses - because we have only
volunteers!).
